Description
The Estimator will:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for a variety of commercial and institutional projects
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop complete pricing
- Collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, and internal team members throughout the estimating process
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing to ensure competitive and comprehensive bids
- Assist in reviewing project scope and identifying potential risks or cost-saving opportunities
- Support the preconstruction process by helping to develop budgets and preliminary estimates
- Maintain organized documentation and ensure all estimates align with company standards and processes
- Contribute to a steady pipeline of regional projects by supporting timely and efficient bid preparation
Profile
The successful Estimator will have the following:
· 4 years' experience in Commercial Construction Estimating within a general contracting environment
· Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
· Proven experience estimating projects ranging from $250K-$20M, with exposure to complex, multi-million-dollar builds
· Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and takeoff processes
· Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, in-house estimating team structure
· Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills in a deadline-driven environment
· Effective communication skills, primarily supporting internal teams with limited client-facing responsibilities

Experience preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial and institutional construction projects

Background in general contracting, ideally supporting projects across a range of sizes and complexity
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop detailed takeoffs
Organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills in a deadline-driven environment
Effective communicator who can collaborate with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors
Experience working within a team-oriented estimating department structure
Demonstrated career progression within construction estimating or a related field
