Job Description
Leadership & Strategic Execution
- Lead a team of estimators, design-build managers, and buyers.
- Oversee strategic and tactical execution of the company's construction plan.
- Participate actively in strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Support recruitment and hiring of new team members.
- Manage preconstruction activities for multiple projects, ensuring quality deliverables.
- Lead the turnover process from preconstruction to field execution.
- Evaluate potential customers and project feasibility, including financing considerations.
- Conduct site visits as needed.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows and speaking events.
- Manage the preconstruction P&L.
- Coordinate project communications and internal/external meeting schedules.
- Support lessons-learned processes and ensure continuous improvement.
- Assist project managers with KPI development aligned to project and client goals.
- Work closely with construction management teams to track suppliers, schedules, budgets, and invoices.
- Contribute to technology selection and implementation to support automation and AI goals.
- Participate in pre-mortem and post-mortem risk reviews.
- Support annual SOP development and program planning.

The Successful Applicant
A Successful Director Of Preconstruction Should Have
- 8 years of experience in construction, including 5 years in preconstruction.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Project Management experience required.
- Experience with Procore, AIA contracts, and Onscreen Takeoff is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Google Suite.
Salary: $125,000 - $175,000 (full-time, salaried).
