Job Description
- Develop and refine inspection programs using 3D CAD models and part drawings for components of varying complexity.
- Build custom operator prompts to simplify machine interaction and ensure accurate data capture.
- Validate and prove out CMM/Gauge programs, identifying errors and conducting GRRs or correlation studies as needed.
- Support mechanical inspection of medium to highly complex parts using all available measurement tools.
- Communicate inspection results clearly with graphical outputs and use SPC insights to support process or design improvements.
- Assemble, qualify, and maintain CMM/Gauge styli systems; perform troubleshooting and coordinate service support when needed.
- Determine and assemble appropriate fixturing for automated inspection of complex components.
- Maintain all documentation and reporting related to CMM/Gauge programs and studies.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement and comply with all ISO procedures.
- Support additional departments, shifts, or duties depending on business needs.
The Successful Applicant
- High School Diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience programming CMMs using automated inspection software.
- Certification in ASME Y14.5M (2009 or 2018) geometric dimensioning and tolerancing standards.
- Formal training and certification in major inspection software (Calypso, PC-DMIS, Modus, ATOS, etc.).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and capable of learning specialized program‑management software.
- Strong communication skills, time management, and willingness to assist others proactively.
- Ability to contribute to 5S and maintain an organized workspace.
- Ability to meet typical manufacturing physical requirements, including standing, lifting, and repetitive motion tasks.
