CONSTRUCTION OBSERVER/ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
MHE Engineering, DPC. is a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm located in Southern New York and north Eastern Pennsylvania. The primary areas of practice include civil engineering (including water and wastewater), structural engineering, architecture, municipal consulting, construction observation and administration, as well as building support services. The firm was founded in 1978 and operates two offices in New Windsor, NY, and Milford, PA.
MHE has project openings for full-time experienced Construction Observers and Engineering Technicians to support our various construction projects throughout Orange and Sullivan Counties in New York State.
Job responsibilities to include: On-site construction observation, field measuring, and record keeping associated with roadways; infrastructure/utilities (water, sewer and stormwater); concrete curbing and sidewalks; as well as erosion and sediment control practices. Additional responsibilities will include construction related correspondence.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:
- 3 years’ experience in above reference field of work
- N.I.C.E.T Certification, or the ability to obtain such certification in either underground utilities or heavy highway is preferred.
- Familiarity with MS4 Areas and SWPPP reviews is a plus.
Candidates shall be proficient in technical writing, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to effectively communicate with clients and regulatory bodies.
