THE JOB: Join our team at MGM Resorts as an Irrigation Gardener, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and beauty of our landscapes. In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems across our expansive property, ensuring our gardens and outdoor spaces thrive. THE STARTING RATE: $21.770 Per Hour THE DAY-TO-DAY: Inspect, program, and maintain state-of-the-art irrigation systems to ensure precise, efficient water distribution. Establish smart watering schedules, manage controllers, and proactively troubleshoot systems to eliminate water waste and support resort sustainability goals. Perform skilled repairs and preventative maintenance on specialized irrigation components—including valves, pipes, drip lines, emitters, pressure regulators, filters, and electrical wiring. Stay current on industry trends and modern smart-water technologies. Install new irrigation lines and drainage systems aligned with soil composition and plant needs. Maintain surrounding outdoor environments through rock application, raking, blowing, and general cleanup to ensure pristine property aesthetics. Safely operate and maintain a diverse inventory of manual hand tools (shears, saws, shovels) and specialized motorized equipment (blowers, trimmers, lawnmowers, chainsaws, light tractors). Safely operate company vehicles and utility carts to transport materials across properties. Utilize company mobile devices to efficiently receive, document, and complete work orders in real-time. Conduct daily safety inspections of work areas, maintain tools in peak working condition, and promptly report any hazards or equipment malfunctions to management.
