Medical Assistant (MA)Job Summary

The Medical Assistant (MA) supports licensed healthcare professionals by providing clinical and administrative assistance in a residential healthcare setting. This role includes patient intake, vital signs, medication support, documentation, and assisting providers during examinations while maintaining a safe and confidential environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain patient health and substance abuse histories and record vital signs
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist healthcare providers during visits
• Administer medications and coordinate prescription refills as directed
• Prepare laboratory specimens and maintain sterile medical equipment
• Educate patients on medications, diet, and health instructions
• Maintain accurate patient records, treatment notes, and documentation
• Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, insurance forms, and billing information
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure equipment is functioning properly
• Follow all safety, confidentiality, and healthcare compliance standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program
• State Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) required
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills

Pre-Employment Requirements

• FBI and Department of Justice fingerprint clearance
• Drug screening and negative TB test
• Must be insurable at standard automobile rates

License

• Valid California driver’s license required

Pay: $21.00 per hour
