Summary:
The Assistant Residential Manager supports the Residential Manager in overseeing daily operations of residential treatment programs. This role assists with staff supervision, program coordination, compliance, and delivery of clinical and support services. The Assistant Residential Manager serves as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and may act as the team lead in the absence of the Residential Manager. The position also communicates with referral sources including Riverside University Health System, Probation, Parole, Department of Justice, and insurance providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with oversight of daily residential program operations and treatment schedules.
- Ensure consistency across residential sites and compliance with Medi-Cal, CARF, DHCS, RUHS, and other regulatory standards.
- Participate in county and state audits and support documentation compliance with QA standards.
- Assist with staff recruitment, training, supervision, evaluations, and scheduling.
- Coordinate duties with residential site managers and help maintain staffing coverage.
- Support budgeting, expense control, and program planning with the Executive Team.
- Provide professional customer service to staff, clients, referral sources, and community partners.
- Lead staff meetings and attend required trainings and workshops.
- Ensure program operations continue during staff absences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of behavioral health and substance use treatment, counseling principles, addiction models, and residential program operations. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret policies and regulations, maintain confidentiality, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively with diverse populations.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience with business or program management.
- Master’s degree in behavioral sciences or related field or 3 years of related experience.
- CADC I, CATC I, or higher alcohol and drug certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing residential treatment programs.
- 3 years in behavioral health or related field.
- Strong administrative, conflict resolution, and time management skills.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- FBI and Department of Justice fingerprint clearance.
- Negative TB test and drug screening.
- Must be insurable at standard automobile rates.
License:
Valid California Driver’s License required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, communicate clearly, and use standard office equipment for extended periods.
Dress Code:
Business casual attire required. Clothing must be clean, professional, and appropriate. Closed-toe shoes required. No athletic wear, revealing clothing, or hazardous jewelry.
