Position Summary
MEYER is seeking an experienced Sales Representative to drive revenue growth and expand the company’s market presence throughout the Greater Permian Basin. This role is responsible for managing and growing existing customer relationships, developing new business opportunities, and increasing market share across key oilfield service segments, including frac, drilling, workover, pressure control, and related service providers.
The ideal candidate will have strong oil and gas sales experience, established industry relationships, and a solid understanding of pressure control equipment, rentals, repairs, and field service applications. This position requires a self-motivated professional who can work independently, travel extensively throughout the territory, and represent MEYER with professionalism, responsiveness, and technical credibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow relationships with existing customers throughout the Permian Basin.
- Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities with frac companies, drilling contractors, workover service providers, and other oilfield service companies.
- Conduct regular customer visits, field visits, sales calls, and presentations to promote MEYER’s equipment, rental, repair, and service offerings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding products, pricing, availability, repairs, rentals, and service needs.
- Prepare, submit, and follow up on quotations, proposals, bids, and sales opportunities.
- Coordinate with operations, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated and fulfilled.
- Maintain strong customer satisfaction through timely communication, follow-up, and effective problem resolution.
- Monitor market trends, customer activity, competitor activity, and regional demand throughout the Permian Basin.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, customer functions, and networking opportunities to build and strengthen relationships.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer records, call reports, and opportunity tracking through the company’s sales systems.
- Work toward achieving established revenue, margin, customer growth, and market penetration goals.
Required Qualifications
- Must live in Midland/Odessa, Texas, or the surrounding area.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of frac, drilling, workover, completion, and well intervention operations.
- Knowledge of pressure control equipment, valves, rental equipment, repairs, and related oilfield applications.
- Proven ability to develop, manage, and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, generate leads, close business, and grow a territory.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing a large geographic territory.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational, follow-up, and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Permian Basin and surrounding areas as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing relationships with Permian Basin operators, drilling contractors, frac service providers, workover companies, or oilfield service companies.
- Experience selling pressure control equipment, valves, rental equipment, repair services, or oilfield service solutions.
- Familiarity with pressure pumping, well intervention, drilling, completion, and production-related operations.
- Experience using CRM software and managing a sales pipeline.
