Position Summary
The Experienced Plumbing Lead is responsible for overseeing field plumbing operations, leading crews, and ensuring all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role combines advanced technical expertise with leadership, planning, and accountability for jobsite execution.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can drive productivity, uphold company standards, and represent Metro Plumbing Contractors with professionalism on every project.
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Execution
- Lead and supervise plumbing crews on residential and light commercial projects
- Coordinate daily work activities to ensure productivity, quality, and schedule adherence
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including water, sewer, and gas lines
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and job scopes to guide execution
- Troubleshoot issues in the field and resolve efficiently
Project Coordination
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other trades
- Plan materials, equipment, and labor needs for each jobsite
- Maintain project schedules and communicate delays or risks proactively
- Ensure all work meets code requirements and inspection standards
Quality & Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards on all jobsites
- Ensure installations meet company quality expectations and reduce rework
- Conduct jobsite inspections and correct deficiencies
- Maintain proper documentation of work completed, inspections, and service records
Team Leadership & Development
- Train, mentor, and develop apprentice and junior plumbers
- Set expectations for performance, accountability, and professionalism
- Foster a positive, team-oriented jobsite culture
- Address performance issues and escalate when necessary
Customer & Stakeholder Interaction
- Serve as the primary field contact for builders, homeowners, and inspectors
- Represent Metro Plumbing Contractors in a professional and solutions-oriented manner
- Communicate clearly regarding job progress, issues, and expectations
Qualifications
Required
- 5 years of plumbing experience (residential or commercial)
- Proven experience leading crews or supervising jobsites
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and installation practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred
- Licensed Journeyman Plumber (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in residential construction and production building environments
- OSHA certification or strong safety background
- Experience coordinating with multiple trades in construction settings
