Metrics Recruitment is partnering with a $150M investment platform focused on robotics, automation, and AI-driven manufacturing. We're seeking a Controller / Principal Accounting Officer to lead finance and reporting for the launch of a publicly listed closed-end fund on NASDAQ.
This is a hands-on, build-first role at a critical inflection point. You will own financial reporting, SEC filings, and control infrastructure from day one, working closely with the COO and external partners to stand up a public fund platform.

- Lead all SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, N-CSR, N-PORT, N-CEN).
- Oversee fund administrators, custodians, and auditors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Build and implement internal controls, disclosure frameworks, and reporting processes.
- Prepare board and audit committee materials and support valuation processes.
- Establish scalable systems and infrastructure for future team growth.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in fund accounting, controller, or similar roles.
- Deep ’40 Act / registered fund experience.
- Hands-on ownership of SEC filings (preparation, not just review).
- Experience working closely with fund administrators and external auditors.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and control frameworks.
- Comfortable operating in a lean, high-ownership environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience launching a fund (closed-end fund, BDC, or interval fund).
- Exposure to publicly listed investment vehicles.
- Track record of building processes, controls, or finance infrastructure from scratch.
- Background in smaller or emerging asset managers.
