Atlantic Group is hiring an Assistant Controller (Fund Accounting) with our client in New York, NY (Hybrid). Oversee fund accounting operations, manage the fund administrator, review financial statements, and ensure LPA compliance. Handle capital activity, approve waterfall and fee calculations, and support valuations, tax filings, and investor reporting. Ideal for accounting professionals with private equity fund experience, strong technical skills, and a record of improving efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Responsibilities as the Assistant Controller:
- Fund Administrator Oversight: Manage the relationship and workflows with the third-party fund administrator to ensure timely, accurate deliverables.
- Financial Reporting: Review fund financial statements, documentation, and records for investor reporting, audits, and tax filings.
- Capital Activity & Fees: Approve capital calls, distributions, waterfalls, management fees, and expense calculations per LPAs.
- Investor Communications: Coordinate quarterly and ad-hoc reporting, including annual reports, K-1s, and tax forms.
- Valuation & Analysis: Review portfolio company data for quarterly valuations and build analytics/forecasting models for stakeholders.
- Operations & IR Support: Enhance policies, procedures, and technology platforms while supporting investor relations and fundraising efforts.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required (CPA strongly preferred).
- Experience: 5 years in public and/or private accounting with private equity investment funds, including experience in fund audits, tax filings, and investor reporting.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience in financial modeling, waterfall calculations, and management fee structures.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of private equity fund structures, LPAs, investor capital flows, and valuation methodologies.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
