What are the responsibilities and job description for the Investment Fund Tax Senior Associate position at Atlantic Group?
Role:
- Serve as a trusted tax advisor responsible for the review and oversight of fund tax workpapers, partner allocations, and partnership filings, including Forms 1065 and Schedule K-1, as well as related corporate and informational returns.
- Provide technical analysis of financial data to support fund-level tax estimates and partner tax projections, ensuring accuracy and alignment with applicable tax regulations.
- Advise on and oversee international tax compliance matters, including PFIC and CFC reporting (Forms 8621 and 5471), and interpret related regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and review flow-through tax information from underlying investments, including the calculation and maintenance of partner and investment tax basis.
- Guide entity structuring and formation considerations, while ensuring compliance with FATCA/CRS requirements and proper tax documentation for withholding and reporting obligations.
- Collaborate closely with accounting teams to advise on partner tax estimates and quarterly tax payments, and represent the tax function in responding to IRS and state tax authority inquiries.
- Identify opportunities to enhance tax processes, implement automation solutions, and provide technical research and guidance on complex or evolving tax matters.
Qualifications:
- 4 - 8 years of Tax within the Private sector / Big 4
- Strong academic record, Masters in tax preferred
- Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation preferred
