Our client is an established real estate firm that builds large-scale, mixed-use developments that integrate luxury, culture, and community. The Assistant Controller will focus specifically on the financial reporting for various real estate credit investment vehicles for the firm.
Responsibilities
- Manage the third-party fund administrator to ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements are met
- Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with GAAP
- Implement and monitor an effective internal control environment over all aspects of financial reporting
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports for the investment team, management team, and strategic partners/investors
- Ensure that all inter-company transactions are processed and are fully reconciled on a monthly basis
- Calculate, review, and process asset management fees and performance fees
- Monitor bank account balances and efficient use of cash ensuring proper working capital is established and maintained
- Work with external tax service to ensure compliance with tax regulations for all relevant entities
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA preferred
- 7-10 years of corporate accounting or public accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and fund accounting
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- Can liaise with various stakeholders
