Traffic Engineer (Transportation)

We are working with a growing engineering consultancy seeking a Traffic Engineer to support the delivery of transportation planning, traffic studies, and design projects. This is a great opportunity to work closely with senior leadership while contributing to meaningful infrastructure projects.
The Role
In this position, you will support senior engineering leadership in delivering a range of transportation and traffic engineering projects. You’ll be involved in everything from technical studies and modelling to stakeholder coordination and design development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior leadership in the delivery of traffic and transportation projects
- Prepare transportation planning and traffic engineering studies
- Conduct traffic modelling and analysis
- Develop design concepts and plans aligned with project scope
- Research relevant standards, codes, and agency guidelines
- Coordinate with clients and external stakeholders
- Carry out field data collection and analysis
- Perform quality control reviews on technical deliverables
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Attend client meetings and industry events as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- 5 years of experience in transportation/traffic engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles and standards (e.g., MUTCD, AASHTO, ITE)
- Experience with traffic modelling tools such as SYNCHRO, CUBE, or similar
- Working knowledge of design software (AutoCAD, MicroStation or equivalent)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and within a team
