Geotechnical Project Manager
A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex transportation, water/wastewater, and heavy civil infrastructure projects across the Southeast. The firm is entering a strong growth phase, with upcoming geotechnical work anticipated on several multi-billion-dollar highway projects.
This is a lead role suited to an experienced geotechnical professional who can manage projects end-to-end while maintaining strong client relationships and supporting technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical projects from proposal development through design and construction.
- Oversee project scope, budgets, schedules, and delivery performance.
- Manage subsurface investigation programs including drilling, CPT, sampling, and field testing.
- Provide technical oversight of geotechnical analyses including:
- Foundation design (shallow and deep)
- Settlement and consolidation analysis
- Slope stability and earthworks
- Retaining structures and ground improvement
- Pavement and infrastructure design support
- Serve as primary client contact and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Coordinate with contractors, design engineers, and regulatory agencies.
- Review and approve technical reports, calculations, and construction recommendations.
- Provide construction-phase support and resolve field-related geotechnical issues.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
- Support business development, proposal preparation, and project pursuits.
Qualifications
- M.S. in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical focus preferred)
- Active PE license in Georgia, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience
- Proven experience managing heavy civil infrastructure projects
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and teams
- Experience with geotechnical software such as LPile, APile, GeoStudio, Slide, GROUP, SHAFT, or GRLWEAP preferred

Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
