Electrical Service Manager
📍 Renton, WA
Seeking an experienced Electrical Service Manager to take ownership of day-to-day service operations, drive customer excellence, and deliver profitable growth without compromising on safety. In this role you will be overseeing service delivery across break/fix, T&M, preventive maintenance, and small projects within a fast-paced, technically demanding environment.
The Role
You’ll lead the service function end-to-end, owning scheduling, customer relationships, financial performance, and team development while ensuring all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the service desk: intake, triage, and dispatch across reactive and planned works
- Build and manage short-interval schedules, balancing emergency response, PM routes, and quoted work
- Own weekly operational cadence: backlog, WIP, margins, aging, open POs, and project closeout
- Act as the primary point of contact for key clients—driving communication, expectations, and satisfaction
- Scope, price, and issue proposals; manage NTEs, change orders, and work authorizations
- Coordinate site access and compliance with facilities teams and general contractors
- Champion a strong safety culture, enforcing LOTO, energized work permits, PPE, and daily briefings
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and local codes; maintain accurate documentation and as-builts
- Lead, mentor, and develop service electricians and apprentices
- Partner with recruitment to hire and onboard new team members
- Build capability matrices aligned to service types (lighting, switchgear, controls, EV charging, low voltage, etc.)
- Own and forecast Service P&L performance across your portfolio
- Standardize SOPs to improve efficiency from job completion to invoicing
- Track and report key KPIs including response times, productivity, margins, and customer satisfaction
Requirements
- 7 years’ experience within electrical service operations in a contractor environment
- Strong background in dispatch, customer management, and field leadership
- Proven ability leading mixed teams of journeymen and apprentices (union experience advantageous)
- Solid estimating capability across T&M and small project work
- Familiarity with permitting, submittals, and compliance workflows
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform under pressure and manage stakeholder expectations
- Relevant electrical licensing (or equivalent experience) preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $125,000 – $180,000
- Discretionary year-end bonus
