What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineer position at Metric Bio?
Metric Bio has partnered with an early stage medical device company developing a first-of-its-kind cardiac mapping platform designed to transform how atrial fibrillation is visualised and treated. Their technology gives electrophysiologists unprecedented spatial resolution and sample density to see AF in a way that simply hasn't been possible before. They are building their core R&D team and this is a foundational engineering hire.
We are looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer on behalf of our partner to join the R&D team and play a central role in the design, development, and iteration of a novel intracardiac mapping catheter. You'll work closely with a small, highly experienced team where your contributions will have direct and visible impact on the product.
You must have:
- 3 years of mechanical engineering experience in medical device development
- Hands-on catheter design experience (this is essential, not a nice to have)
- Proficiency in 3D CAD design (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience with design controls, design verification and validation
- Familiarity with FDA design and development requirements and quality management systems
- Comfort working in a resource-constrained early stage environment where you own your domain end to end
