Description
Job Summary:
To perform a variety of complex and responsible clerical duties for assigned areas of responsibilities; to provide a variety of detailed information to students, parents, faculty and staff; to maintain complex and detailed records and files related to assigned areas of responsibility; and assist with special projects. This position reports to the Director of Global Education and Enrollment Operations
Job Duties:
Duties as assigned may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Answer enrollment related calls and transfer to other University departments as needed.
- Provide information and assistance to callers
- Greet current and prospective students and their families as they arrive in Stout Hall, directing them to the appropriate office or Enrollment personnel
- Sort and distribute mail to appropriate offices in Stout Hall
- Verify and input a variety of information into the student information system, including inputting inquiries and providing support for application processing
- Perform assigned daily procedures communications to prospective students utilizing the student information system
- Perform general clerical work including filing, scheduling appointments, duplication, and processing of information
- Research problems and discrepancies in student records, applications, transcripts and standardized test scores
- Interpret University policies, procedures, rules and regulations in response to inquires and concerns; refer inquires and concerns to appropriate personnel
- Help to organize and maintain record and application filing systems
- Be available for weekend duty hours as needed
- Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of recent administrative experience, preferably in a University setting.
Knowledge of:
- Office procedures, methods and word processing equipment.
- Methodist and procedure for operating computers and related equipment, including specific operating systems, and appropriate commands.
- Business letter writing and basic report preparation.
- Principles and procedures of basic recordkeeping.
- Laws, rules and regulations pertaining to assigned area of responsibility including releasing confidential student information and processing mail.
Ability to:
- Explain and apply University policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
- Type at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
