This role combines technical knowledge, customer interaction, and sales strategy to drive growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimate Preparation:
- Review project plans, specifications, and proposals to develop accurate and competitive roofing estimates.
- Perform on-site inspections to assess project scope, materials, labor, and timeline requirements.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to calculate costs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Sales & Client Relations:
- Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, property managers, and building owners.
- Respond to RFQs/RFPs and follow up on leads to secure new business.
- Present estimates and proposals to clients in a clear and professional manner.
- Negotiate contracts and close sales in collaboration with the project management team.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with operations team to ensure smooth project transitions from estimation to execution.
- Attend pre-bid and job meetings as required.
- Market Research:
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor pricing, and market conditions to improve estimating accuracy and strategy.
- 5-10 years proven experience in commercial construction (roofing or architectural metal preferred) estimating and sales role.
- Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, built-up, metal, etc.) and/or metal panel systems
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
