Reports to: Corporate HR Director
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Location: This is a fully on-site position. Candidates must live within commuting distance of Rochester, NY. Remote or out-of-state applicants will not be considered.
Job Purpose:
The Human Resources Generalist supports and enhances the company’s HR functions by leading initiatives in recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and performance management. This role helps maintain a positive, compliant, and productive workplace for all team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding
- Maintain and update accurate job descriptions and organizational structures
- Support employee relations by advising managers and employees on performance, conduct, and conflict resolution
- Develop and conduct new hire orientation and ongoing training programs
- Administer compensation, payroll coordination, and employee benefits programs
- Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws, HR policies, and reporting requirements
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation
- Assist with performance evaluation processes and employee development initiatives
- Research and recommend improvements to HR policies and practices
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organization
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years of professional HR experience preferred
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR information systems
- Must be able to work on-site; this is not a remote position
