FABRICATION AND MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (SENIOR LEVEL)
JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Fabrication and Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for metal fabrication, as well as the maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facilities. Strong skills in mechanics, electrical systems, and the fabrication of parts, tools, and systems are essential. Good communication skills are important for this role, as it involves assisting others in the production of high-quality products while strictly adhering to safety and quality control measures. Basic computer skills, including the ability to search for replacement tooling and parts, and familiarity with email and Microsoft products, are a plus.
Schedule: Monday through Thursday 7:00 AM - 4:15 PM & Friday 7:00 AM 12:00 Noon
DUTIES
1. Machining Metal Parts:
Operate lathe and milling machines to machine metal parts from engineered drawings.
Set up and adjust machine tools and equipment.
Make changes to parts that need alterations as necessary.
2. General Welding:
Perform general welding tasks as required for various projects.
Ensure welds meet quality and safety standards.
3. Setup and Operation of Automatic Welding Machine:
Set up, maintain, and operate automatic welding machines.
4. Prototype and Custom Tooling:
Assist engineers in building prototype parts and custom tooling.
Provide feedback on design and functionality during the prototyping phase.
5. Troubleshooting Production Equipment:
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with production equipment.
Implement solutions to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
6. Quality Control:
Inspect products to ensure they meet quality control standards.
Document inspection results and report any deviations.
7. Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
Operate and maintain equipment and custom machinery.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
8. Collaboration:
Work with management and engineering teams to optimize production processes.
Participate in meetings to discuss improvements in quality control procedures.
9. Preventative Maintenance:
Assist with preventative maintenance tasks on equipment.
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities.
10. Safety Protocols:
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines.
Report any hazards or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
11. Liquid Transfer:
Transfer liquids from drums into larger holding tanks using pneumatic pumps.
12. Thread Cutting and High-Pressure Adaptors:
Cut threads and make adaptors for high-pressure applications.
13. Reading Engineered Drawings:
Read and interpret engineered drawings accurately.
14. High-Pressure Equipment and Pressure Vessels:
Work with high-pressure equipment and pressure vessels safely and effectively.
15. Electronics and Electrical Systems:
Have knowledge of electronics and electrical systems and components.
16. Hydraulic and Pneumatic Equipment:
Understand and work with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
17. Production Facility Maintenance:
Assist in maintaining the production facility.
SKILLS
1. Machining and Fabrication:
Proficiency in operating lathe and milling machines.
Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings.
Experience with general welding and automatic welding machines.
Knowledge of thread cutting and making adaptors for high-pressure applications.
2. Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
