What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family & Community Advo position at MET Opportunities?
Bachelor degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Health, Psychology, or a related field is recommended. A high school diploma or GED and 2 years previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.
Must pass criminal background check and is subject to the agency’s drug and alcohol testing
Extensive travel required in the area; must be able to travel outside project area as
May come into contact with childhood diseases and blood on
Possess a valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record, as approved by the agency’s vehicle insurance carrier.
Employee must have an account with a financial institution that can process financial transactions through MET’s electronic payroll system.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Complete and manage reports and activities in accordance with program
Collect data and track client progress and conduct assessments to identify possible interventions, and provide guidance and referrals to resources.
Facilitate group activities, program overviews, and
Participate in staff meetings, case reviews and supervised
Maintain and submit in a timely manner all required program
Locate and maintain professional relationships with service providers and community partners within the project area and surrounding communities.
Create MOU’s with community partners that outline services.
Identify human services available to parents and children across the service
Provide training to parents and staff using outside sources as
Conduct extensive outreach efforts and serve as an advocate for enrolled
Support advocates with their community events and recruitment
Provide training to advocates to enhance their professional
Recruit community partners to participate in coalition
Participate in continuous quality
Report to work at scheduled time and maintain good Perform all duties in a safe, timely, and professional manner. Participate with a positive attitude and behavior in all program activities.
Maintain confidentiality in all areas of responsiblity.
Perform all other duties as outlined by supervisor.
