What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Foreman position at Met-Con, Inc.?
Responsible for the production and performance of the fabrication facilities. These responsibilities range from scheduling, personnel management and reviews to quality control.
DUTIES:
- Provide leadership and guidance for shop employees
- Adhere to and enforce all company policies
- Manage all aspects of the fabrication shop, including personnel, equipment, tools, materials, etc.
- Update and maintain the appropriate items in the production schedule
- Update and maintain the fabrication schedule
- Coordinate and schedule deliveries
- Establish and publish standard fabrication procedures
- Maintain high quality standards and quality control procedures to ensure that the customers get a quality product on time
- Continually evaluate production procedures to increase effectiveness of employees, efficiency of production, and improve quality
- Communicate with other departments to ensure project schedules are met
- Maintain all equipment and buildings as applicable and necessary
- Communicate with other departments, Hanover shops, as necessary, regarding product status, quality, and delivery
- Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Make decisions that protect the best interests of the company
- Maintain a balanced workload in the shop and provide feedback to the General Manager as needed
- Maintain inventory levels as needed and discussed with the General Manager and Purchasing Agent
- Determine work hours as needed to maintain delivery schedules
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
- Managerial or supervisory experience required
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Detailed knowledge of industry
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Computer Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite (required)
