Met-Con, Inc., a rapidly growing structural steel fabrication and erection company, is seeking a full-time Machine Operator for our Cocoa, Florida location. Job Description:
The CNC Machine Operator has experience with one or more of the following: Kinetic Plasma table, Peddinghaus Saw/Drill line, Peddinghaus Angle Master, Ficep Beamline. This position also requires experience with overhead cranes, detailed part marking, and manual lifting of 50lbs regularly.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Select correct machine settings for optimal operations
- Measure materials to assure conformance with design specifications
- Select correct material type, stock size and dimensions
- Transfer appropriate data onto materials
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Keep an accurate record of daily operations and material usage
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and assist in trouble shooting any machine issues
REQUIREMENTS
- Experienced operating CNC plasma table or experience with sawing/drilling/cutting operations is required
- Ability to interpret blueprints, symbols and notes is preferred
- Must be able to read a tape measure to within 1/16"
- Ability to perform basic math
- Ability to stand for a prolonged period
- Ability to tolerate hot and cold working environments
- Ability to safely operator overhead cranes and the material transfer/convey system
- Tekla PowerFab experience preferred
