What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator - Construction Services position at Mesquite ISD?
- To effectively assist the administration in developing and maintaining the best possible educational facilities in a way that enhances opportunity for improved student morale and performance.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Working knowledge of architecture is preferred
- Possess knowledge relating to facility planning and development.
- Exhibit highly effective organizational and consensus building skills.
- Demonstrate excellent communication (verbal and written), public relation, and interpersonal skills.
- Possess knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures of MISD.
- Proficient in using computers and software applications, including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
- Possess knowledge of general bookkeeping.
- Public school background is preferred.
- Successful experience in planning and organizing facilities is preferred.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Schedule and advertise all bids for construction.
- Coordinate all planning meetings as needed.
- Work with Construction Manager for construction to insure proper construction outcomes.
- Approve all pay certificates and miscellaneous invoices pertaining to construction development.
- Keep property files updated and filed.
- Work with engineering firm to keep all boundary lines of property accurate and provide current maps as needed.
- Approve all architects’ supplemental instructions, cost proposals, and special allowance draws pertaining to all construction contracts.
- Track Shared Savings and Contractor Allowances in construction contracts.
- Review legal contracts pertaining to construction and properties.
- Provide budgeting/planning timelines for construction projects/bond fund planning.
- Verify the authenticity of addresses within Mesquite ISD, providing street address ranges of MISD streets for data processing, and verifying the attendance zone of address in question.
- Maintain records of renovations, general construction, and existing blueprints/drawings of all school facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
