- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate custodial staff to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely completion of cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Manage hiring, onboarding, daily assignments, and work schedules, in collaboration with Custodial Leads as needed.
- Oversee employee performance management, including conducting evaluations, providing coaching, issuing disciplinary action, and supporting terminations, in alignment with district policies.
- Respond promptly to custodial service calls and on-site emergencies during assigned shifts.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs and inspections of district facilities to monitor cleanliness, safety, and compliance with established custodial standards and protocols.
- Identify areas for improvement and follow up on corrective actions.
- Partner with other departments to support custodial needs for facility projects, school events, and work orders.
- Provide input on planning, timelines and budgeting for custodial aspects of facility projects.
- Collaborate with the Custodial Equipment Repair and Gym Floor Specialist to assist in maintaining and repairing custodial equipment and gym floors.
- Additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities may be assigned as needed/requested.
- High school diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent vocational school required
- Minimum of five years of experience in custodial, maintenance, or related trades required
- Preference given for prior supervisory experience
- Preference given for administrative experience, such as bookkeeping, budgeting, purchasing
- Criminal background check required for hire
- Valid Colorado driver's license
- Submit a current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet the Colorado School Districts Self Insurance Pool (CSDSIP) insurability standards at the time of hire and throughout employment
- Obtain and maintain the District's Small Vehicle Permit within 60 days of hire
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds - Lift test required at time of hire
- Valid Colorado driver's license with minimum of CDL Class A endorsement
- Operating knowledge of equipment used in custodial equipment including gym floor applicator, floor buffer, water vacuum, extractor, and auto scrubbers
- Ability to interpret and implement OSHA's Safety & Data Sheet protocols and regulations
- Thorough understanding of custodial methods, processes, procedures, chemicals, and equipment
- Familiarity with building operations, district scheduling systems and security procedures
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible with collaborative critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
