Job Summary:
The Fleet Analyst plays a key role in analyzing and optimizing the costs associated with the purchasing, receipt, and allocation of all fleeted equipment throughout the organization. The Fleet Analyst gathers and examines data including forecasts, equipment needs, inventory levels and regulatory compliance, to identify areas of improvement and cost savings. Your insights and recommendations will contribute to the efficiency of the fleet operation and support the company's overall goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, organize, and analyze data on fleet operations, including fuel usage, maintenance expenses, vehicle utilization, and performance metrics
- Develop and maintain reporting tools and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends and outliers
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and financial modeling to evaluate the impact of proposed changes or investments in the fleet
- Identify opportunities to optimize fleet operations, such as route optimization, vehicle replacement strategies, and alternative fuel options
- Collaborate with the fleet manager, logistic manager, and other stakeholders to understand operational needs and challenges and develop data-driven solutions
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to fleet management and incorporate relevant insights into recommendations
- Prepare and present reports, findings, and recommendations to senior management, providing insights and actionable recommendations to support decision-making
- Assist in the implementation of new systems, processes, and technologies to improve fleet management efficiency and effectiveness
- Participate in cross-functional teams and projects to support overall business objectives and initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, logistics, engineering, or related field
- 5 years of previous experience in fleet management, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret large datasets
- Proficient in PC software applications, specifically including Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of budgeting and cost estimating
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Experience in price, spec and purchase or lease vehicles including understanding and tracking total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Knowledge of fleet management systems and technologies preferred
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to fleet operations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
