What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Executive Assistant (Jewish Philanthropy; C-Suite Level) position at Merraine Group?
This is not your typical Executive Assistant role….
We’re partnering with a highly respected, values-driven philanthropic foundation with a strong presence in Jewish communal life and grantmaking. The Founder is a visionary leader, deeply engaged in both strategic philanthropy and community impact, and is seeking a true right hand.
If you’re a top-tier executive administrative professional who thrives in fast-moving, high-trust environments… who anticipates needs before they’re spoken… who can toggle seamlessly between logistics and strategy… this may be your role!
What You’ll Actually Do:
You’ll work directly with the President/Chairman of the Board and collaborate closely with a small group of dynamic, next-generation trustees. This is a highly visible, high-impact role where no two days look the same.
- Own complex calendar management across personal, professional, and philanthropic priorities
- Orchestrate high-level meetings, travel, and events with precision and discretion
- Act as a gatekeeper and thought partner, prioritizing what matters most
- Support board and trustee engagement efforts behind the scenes
- Manage discretionary giving to various organizations and coordinate these grants as determined by trustees
- Coordinate marketing and communications logistics, and help plan and execute high-touch events and convenings – from intimate gatherings to larger foundation initiatives
- Keep the engine running smoothly: follow-ups, coordination, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
What Makes This Different:
You’ll be embedded in meaningful philanthropic work, with exposure to influential leaders, ideas, and initiatives shaping the Jewish community and beyond. The environment is entrepreneurial, relationship-driven, and deeply mission-oriented.
This position is fully onsite in the Bethesda, MD area, and is ideal for someone who values in-person collaboration, real-time access, and being closely connected to the day-to-day flow of leadership.
You Might Be a Fit If You:
- Have experience supporting a C-suite executive, founder, or principal in a high-demand environment
- Are exceptionally organized, but also intuitive and forward-thinking
- Bring polish, discretion, and sound judgment in every interaction
- Are energized by people, purpose, and fast-paced work
- Have a connection to or understanding of Jewish community, values, or philanthropy
- Know how to balance warmth with professionalism; you can read a room and adjust accordingly
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Why This Role:
You’ll work closely with key leadership who value loyalty, trust, and excellence, while supporting a group of engaged, thoughtful trustees who are shaping the future of the foundation’s work.
It’s an opportunity to step into a role where your impact is immediate, visible, and meaningful.
If you’re looking for a unique executive support role where mission and excellence go hand in hand, we’d love to hear from you!
A Note on Culture Fit: A strong connection to the Jewish community – personally and/or professionally – is highly valued for this role.
