Duties
- Assess patients’ physical conditions by conducting comprehensive evaluations of mobility, strength, and functional abilities.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that align with patient goals and clinical best practices.
- Administer therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and exercise programs to improve patient outcomes.
- Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless transitions from hospital to home or community settings.
- Document patient progress accurately using electronic medical records (EMR systems) and update care plans regularly.
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy techniques, injury prevention, and home exercise routines.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review patient progress and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practice.
- Experience with acute care, inpatient hospital settings, outpatient clinics, home health, and community-based care environments.
- Proficiency in developing care plans for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and patients recovering from surgery or injury.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and patient record management.
- Ability to perform discharge planning effectively while coordinating with other healthcare providers.
- Knowledge of trigger point therapy techniques for pain management and musculoskeletal conditions.
