What are the responsibilities and job description for the Offset Press Operator Apprentice position at Meridian?
Meridian is adding a full-time person to our growing Production Team. As a Press Operator Apprentice, you’ll have the opportunity to learn a highly skilled trade in our modern, state-of-the-art production facility.

We will provide hands-on training to help you grow into a fully skilled Offset Press Operator, responsible for operating the latest, most advanced offset printing equipment to production and quality standards.
REQUIRED CORE COMPETENCIES
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn offset printing.
- High attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and processes accurately.
- Comfortable standing for long hours (8 to 10-hour shifts).
- Ability to lift 10–15 pounds continuously, and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
- Prior manufacturing or machine operation experience a plus but not required.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Learn to operate offset printing equipment under guidance of experienced press operators.
- Assist in reviewing job instructions, preparing materials, and maintaining production logs.
- Learn how to set up, program, and release jobs from the print queue.
- Support inventory management for inks, solutions, paper, and other supplies.
- Participate in routine maintenance and cleaning to ensure machine reliability.
- Develop troubleshooting skills for quality and efficiency.
- Monitor printing processes to maintain color, registration, and print quality.
- Gain knowledge of best practices in offset press operations.
