What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Meridian World School LLC?
Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and their mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems throughout the campus. Assist with maintenance of grounds.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Maintenance and RepairAssist with repair and maintenance of campus facilities including but not limited to:
- Repairing woodwork
- Replacing electrical switches, fixtures, and motors
- Repairing and painting interior and exterior walls and fixtures
- Repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems
- Inspect building exterior and interior, playground equipment, and grounds
- Detect and report needed major repairs on building structures and their systems, including furniture and equipment
- Complete repairs as directed on work orders or by the Facilities Manager
- Assist with grounds maintenance as needed
- Move, install, assemble, and repair campus furniture and equipment as needed
- Install and repair ceiling and flooring materials
- Assist with custodial duties as needed
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting and climbing
- Operate equipment and use tools according to established safety procedures
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor
- Maintain tools and equipment and perform preventative maintenance as required
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the school
- Ability to keep positive, cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and vendors
- Ability to follow written and oral work orders from supervisor
- Ability to work above ground on ladders and lifts
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
This position will operate in a professional, non-smoking office environment, which at times can be busy with moderate noise and many unscheduled interruptions. This role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers and peripherals, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, as well as a variety of hand and power tools for maintenance and construction tasks.
Salary and Benefits- Starting at $20 per hour
