What are the responsibilities and job description for the Embedded Substitute position at Meridian World School LLC?
Founded in 2011, Meridian School is a public, tuition-free charter school open to all students living in Williamson County. As a charter school, we are a school of choice, offering an inquiry-based curriculum and a K–12 continuum for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. Key Responsibilities- Execute lesson plans left by absent teachers.
- Seek additional guidance from teachers and administrators when needed.
- Establish positive and professional relationships with students while maintaining a respectful, fair, and productive classroom culture.
- Use technology as directed by the lesson plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Ability to instruct students and effectively manage classroom behavior.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and flexibility skills.
- Associate degree or at least 60 college/university credit hours.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree and Texas Teaching Certification preferred but not required.
- The State Board of Education requires all school personnel to complete fingerprinting as part of a national criminal background check. A $49.00 fingerprinting fee applies.
This position operates in a professional, non-smoking school environment that may be busy with moderate noise and frequent interruptions. Employees routinely use standard office equipment, including computers and peripherals, telephones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
