We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our vibrant educational community. Responsibilities

  • Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
  • Support students with disabilities, specifically those with Emotional Disturbance by providing targeted instructional assistance.
  • Use effective behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and classroom safety.
  • Facilitate communication with students using Love & Logic
  • Help prepare instructional materials and adapt curriculum content for diverse learners, including literacy and math activities.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, community outings, lunch, and transitions to ensure a safe and engaging environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists on lesson planning, classroom management techniques, and progress monitoring.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with children in K-8 education or classrooms for students with disabilities is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education practices, including IEP development and implementation.
  • Familiarity with teaching methods such as Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a plus.
  • Experience working with individuals who have ED, ADHD, or developmental disabilities is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to manage classroom behavior positively and constructively.
  • Certification or coursework in deaf education or literacy education is advantageous.
