What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Paraprofessional position at Education Center?
The district is seeking Paraprofessionals and Personal Care Assistants for positions for to assist students receiving special education services for the 2024-2025 School Year.
Paraprofessional Positions include: Healthcare benefits (including vision and dental), Pennsylvania State Employee Pension and paid time off!
TITLE: Paraprofessional/ Personal Care Aide
Location: District-wide (assignments will be made based upon the needs of the students)
REPORTS TO: Director/Supervisor of Special Education
TERMS: approximately 185 days (student days, plus training days) beginning 2024-2025 school year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 48 College credits, ParaEd Certification and/or willingness to obtain ParaEd Certification.
- Experience with Special Education (and positive behavior management) is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team.
- Must have good organizational skills, maintain confidentiality and be flexible.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Support Students who receive special education services in special education, generaleducation, one to one situations and/or small groups.
- Implement and support individualized positive behavior support plans; provide scheduled reinforcement; utilize de-escalation strategies for highly escalated student behavior.
- Document progress toward the student's goals.
- Support teachers by completing paperwork and clerical duties as required.
- Attend District training session
