Mercury Systems is offering a Principal Electrial Engineer a fulfilling career where you will be able to see the direct impact of your designs in deployed systems with true end-to-end ownership, operating in a smaller, highly technical team. You’re not just implementing requirements; you’re shaping ruggedized solutions that must perform in the real world under extreme conditions. Engineers here directly influence architecture, design decisions and system-level tradeoffs across the systems. You will participate in developing mission-critical embedded computing, high-speed digital systems, advanced FPGA solutions, secure processing and rugged electronics supporting operations across air, land, sea, and space.
In this role, you will be a valuable team member, impacting the long-term technical direction of the organization, establish engineering standards, drive innovation, and ensure the delivery of high-reliability, right-the-first-time solutions for some of the most demanding defense and aerospace applications.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate and support in the execution of complex digital hardware programs from concept through production
- Architect advanced electrical circuit solutions involving secure processing, storage, networking, FPGAs, high-speed interfaces, and extreme environment electronics
- Develop advanced high-speed digital design including 400G Ethernet, PCIe Gen5 , DDR5 , and modern interconnects
- Contribute to engineering best practices, design guidelines, and process improvements that scale across the organization
- Execute the development and verification of highly complex circuits, modules, and systems
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Typically requires 6 years relevant electrical design including complex embedded digital hardware from concept through production
- Experience with high-speed and high-performance interfaces, memory technologies, and next generation interconnects
- Experience with signal integrity
- This position requires you to access information that is subject to U.S. export regulations. Experience with any of the following is valuable but not required:
Digital & High-Speed Technologies
- Intel or other advanced CPU architectures (Xeon-D, Cascade Lake, Granite Rapids)
- Advanced FPGA technologies (AMD/Xilinx Versal, Intel/Altera Agilex)
- High-speed interfaces (400G Ethernet, PCIe Gen5 , DDR5 )
- Experience designing advanced network architectures (Nvidia, Broadcom, Marvell)
- VPX/VITA standards (3U/6U), COM Express
- MIL-STD development in rugged environments
- Space electronics or radiation tolerant components
- Cadence Schematic Capture tools or equivalent
- Cadence Allegro or equivalent CAD/SI tools
- Mentor Valydate or schematic integrity tools
- Reliability/stress analysis (FMECA, derating)
- Requirements and workflow tools (DOORS, JAMA, JIRA, Confluence)
- Experience supporting proposals, cost/schedule estimates, and BOE development

- $87,100.00 - $182,900.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
- $97,600.00 - $204,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
- $102,800.00 - $215,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ,
