You Will Make an Impact By:
- Work as the lead of a technical team responsible for the design, modeling, testing, and packaging of highly complex electro-mechanical components and systems
- Understands the characteristics and improvements of the developed product, develops test methods by using engineering backgrounds including development software/firmware functions, and realize them experimentally
- Create system level engineering design specifications and project scope documents
- Serve as the primary technical liaison for electronics vendors, including defining requirements for externally sourced electronic assemblies.
- Develop, document, and execute design verification plans. Report on results and present appropriate engineering tradeoffs to optimize functional performance, reliability, and product cost
- Communicate effectively with both the development team and management stakeholders in both oral and written forms
- Ensure product design meets industry and regulatory compliance requirements and standards
- Analyze and implement continuous improvements in quality, reliability, and cost reduction
Skills You Bring:
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5 years, or B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 7 years of experience
- Experience designing electronics for optoelectronic instruments, optical detection systems, and mixed-signal architectures
- Experienced with thermal detectors, MCT (Mercury Cadmium Telluride) sensors, thermoelectric coolers, near/mid IR filters, interferometers, optics, and mirrors used in NDIR and FTIR spectroscopy
- Understanding of vacuum system infrastructure including MFCs, pressure controllers, and vacuum pumps
- Skilled with the design and test of complex hardware/embedded software systems that begin with proper scope, requirements reviews, and developing the concepts necessary for operation
- Experienced in the development and testing of system integration & DVT plans
- Strong technical communication (verbal, written, presentation) skills
- Experience with Failure Analysis (FMEA)

- Salary Pay Range: $114,000 - $212,000 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
- Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
