Job Summary:
Mercury Systems' Integrated Process Solutions (IPS) Line of Business (LOB) offers an exciting leadership opportunity for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer who wants to expand your influence, own architecture end-to-end, and drive system innovation. The selected candidate will play a central role in defining, supporting, and delivering the next generation of industry-leading edge processing subsystems solutions. Serving as the Lead Systems Engineer (SEL) within the IPS LOB, this individual will guide core aspects of architecture, integration, verification, and delivery. The role requires collaboration across a matrixed, multi-disciplinary engineering organization and close engagement with customers to ensure successful outcomes.
Responsibilities Include:
- Direct collaboration with Chief Engineers, program management, business development, operations, supply chain, and leadership
- Contributing to multiple fast-moving programs, addressing complex systems challenges, and playing a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of high-impact projects

Required Qualifications:
- BS or higher in a STEM field.
- Typically requires 12 years in Systems Engineering across the Systems Vee (capture, design, integration, verification, validation) and the full program lifecycle.
- Technical skills:
- CONOPS; stakeholder and system requirements; architecture definition; trade studies; interface definition; technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR); technical baseline management; production transition.
- Leadership & business:
- Proven leadership of multi‑discipline engineering teams; experience partnering with Business Development on captures, bids, BOE/ROM, and technical/management volumes.
- U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; eligible to access U.S. export-‑controlled information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Advanced degree in a STEM field.
- Familiarity with Anti-Tamper and system security engineering.
- Modeling and tools:
- Experience with MBSE and tools such as Cameo/SysML; familiarity with Jama, Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket.
- Hardware and signal processing:
- Knowledge of highspeed sensor processing architectures; experience with RF, digital processing, radar, or EW systems; familiarity with FPGA, CPLD, CPU, or MCU based designs.
- Domain experience:
- Experience in the Space domain, EW, SIGINT, RADAR.
- Program skills:
- Strong time management and organizational skills; familiarity with earned value management.
- Collaboration and travel:
- Proven ability to solve cross-disciplinary engineering challenges and collaborate across business units; ability to travel up to 10 percent.
