Merchants Insurance Group, a leading Property and Casualty Insurer in the Northeast, is looking for is looking for a highly motivated Information Technology Intern interested in learning and applying their skills in a corporate capacity. You will be working directly with colleagues and learning about diverse topics including software testing, basic programming, and improving internal tools.

Merchants offers its colleagues a Hybrid work schedule. The Hybrid work schedule requires 2 full days per week in the office, with the option to work the remaining days at home or in the office. This exciting Hybrid Work benefit offers colleagues a flexible work schedule with the ability to remain connected with their Merchants team and colleagues.

Projects may include: 

• Assist with Rate Review Modernization Project by doing hands‑on work such as testing the new system and helping program parts of the portal that support daily operations. This includes checking that features work correctly, reporting issues, and assisting the team with basic development tasks.
• Provides assistance with the modernization of our internal portals. This may include helping update pages, improving how information is organized, reviewing user feedback, and working with technical staff to make the portals easier to use.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Candidates should be pursuing a 4-year college degree.
• Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Knowledge of at least one programming language (any language is acceptable).
• Experience with Angular, angular and C# is preferred but not required.
• Interest in web development or portal modernization.
• Full-time, paid internship at $20.00 hourly starting May 2026 through August 2026 based on school schedule. A minimum commitment of 2-3 months is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as a team in a hybrid work environment
