Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Junior Accountant role based in Hamilton, NJ. The Junior Accountant will support daily accounting operations, including entering and posting journal entries, processing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with bank and account reconciliations. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing invoices, recording cash receipts, maintaining accurate and organized financial records, and supporting month-end and year-end close activities. The role will also help compile financial reports, assist with budget tracking, and respond to internal inquiries regarding transaction details and account balances. The Junior Accountant will collaborate with the accounting and property management teams to ensure timely, accurate financial information and adherence to company policies.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of general accounting principles, including debits/credits, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Experience or coursework in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and basic financial reporting.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting or ERP software; intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel are highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and ability to maintain organized financial records.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with appropriate supervision.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Interest in or exposure to real estate or property management accounting is a plus.
