Role Description The Accounts Payable Clerk is a full-time, on-site role based in Hamilton, NJ. This position is responsible for processing vendor invoices, verifying accuracy and approvals, and ensuring timely payments. Daily tasks include data entry into accounting software, matching purchase orders and receipts, reconciling vendor statements, and resolving discrepancies with internal teams and vendors. The role also includes maintaining organized electronic and physical files, preparing payment runs (checks, ACH, or other methods), and assisting with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable. The Accounts Payable Clerk will collaborate closely with the accounting team to support accurate financial records and efficient payable operations.
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of Finance and basic Accounting principles relevant to accounts payable.
- Proficiency with Accounting Software and related systems used for invoice processing and payment management.
- Experience in Invoicing, including invoice entry, matching, verification, and reconciliation.
- Strong Communication skills for interacting with vendors, internal departments, and team members.
- High attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Prior experience in an accounts payable or general accounting role preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or an associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
