The Merced County Office of Education assists Merced County’s 20 school districts through support and oversight of curriculum and instruction, alternative education, business services, early education, technology, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing. MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School.

Under the general direction of the Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant provides educationally related occupational therapy and rehabilitation services that include direct intervention and instructions from therapy protocols and individualized educational plans to assist students in acquiring functional and independent life skills. This is a health care paraprofessional requiring certification by the California Board of Occupational Therapy.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree from an accredited college in a field directly related to occupational therapy, and one year of experience working with children and young adults with various disabilities that will fulfill certification requirements. Valid certification by the American Occupational Therapy Association. First aid and CPR certifications are required. License California Board of Occupational Therapy. UPON HIRE MUST PRESENT: TB clearance, Official Transcripts, DMV Driving Record Printout, CA Driver's License, and Proof of Auto Insurance Liability (MUST be listed as a driver).
