Construction Superintendent / Project Manager
Downtown La Mesa | 5-Story Mixed-Use Podium Project
Meram Building Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent/Project Manager to lead the field operations of a 5-story mixed-use podium development in Downtown La Mesa.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who has successfully managed commercial and multifamily podium projects from start to finish and can confidently lead subcontractors, maintain schedule, enforce quality, and keep the project moving every day.
Required Experience
Applicants must have:
- Minimum 7 years of commercial construction experience.
- Proven experience managing multifamily podium (Type III over Type I) projects.
- Experience on projects with concrete podium decks, wood framing, waterproofing, elevators, MEP coordination, and life safety systems.
- Ability to manage project schedules, subcontractors, inspections, and daily field operations.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and jobsite safety management.
- Experience using Procore (preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, ASIs, and submittals.
Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project closeout.
- Coordinate and supervise all subcontractors to maintain schedule and quality.
- Develop and maintain three-week look-ahead schedules.
- Coordinate inspections with city officials and third-party inspectors.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, ownership, architects, engineers, and consultants.
- Identify conflicts before they impact the schedule and proactively develop solutions.
- Maintain project documentation, daily reports, safety logs, and quality control inspections.
- Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, and building codes.
- Manage punch lists and turnover through project completion.
- Lead weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
