Position Overview

The Superintendent is responsible for leading daily field operations and driving successful execution of ground-up multifamily construction projects from mobilization through project completion. This role oversees subcontractor coordination, scheduling, site logistics, safety, quality control, and overall field performance to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

Projects may include multifamily, affordable housing, mixed-use, podium, wrap, urban infill, and residential developments, often requiring strong coordination in active, fast-paced construction environments. The ideal candidate has experience managing multifamily projects from the field and thrives in a leadership role focused on execution and team development. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day field operations on multifamily construction projects from groundbreaking through turnover.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and field personnel to maintain project schedules and production goals.
  • Develop and maintain look-ahead schedules and trade sequencing plans to maximize workflow efficiency.
  • Manage jobsite logistics including deliveries, site access, material staging, and workforce coordination.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project plans, specifications, building codes, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe jobsite and enforce OSHA and project safety requirements.
  • Conduct daily site meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and progress reviews.
  • Review drawings and proactively identify constructability issues or conflicts before they impact schedule.
  • Track inspections, punch lists, and project milestones to maintain schedule commitments.
  • Partner with Project Managers to monitor productivity, budget impacts, and overall project performance.
  • Maintain daily reports, field documentation, project logs, and progress updates.
  • Lead project closeout activities including final inspections, punch list completion, turnover, and owner handoff.

Qualifications

  • 7–15 years of experience in construction with 5 years as a Superintendent managing multifamily projects.
  • Strong experience leading ground-up multifamily construction projects required.
  • Experience with podium, wrap, mixed-use, affordable housing, wood-frame, or urban infill developments preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from site mobilization through final closeout.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Experience managing jobsite safety, inspections, and field productivity.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple trades in fast-paced construction environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering 50–300 unit multifamily developments.
  • Familiarity with preconstruction coordination, value engineering, and schedule planning.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, or similar construction management software.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is a plus.

Salary : $110,000 - $150,000
