Role Overview
We are seeking a Volunteer Copywriter to support website content as part of the product and technology team.
This role focuses on UX writing and product-aligned messaging, ensuring that website content is clear, structured, accessible, and aligned with how users navigate and experience the platform.
You will collaborate closely with designers and developers to integrate content directly into the product experience—not as an afterthought, but as a core part of usability and clarity.

Role Overview
We are seeking a Volunteer Copywriter to support website content as part of the product and technology team.
This role focuses on UX writing and product-aligned messaging, ensuring that website content is clear, structured, accessible, and aligned with how users navigate and experience the platform.
You will collaborate closely with designers and developers to integrate content directly into the product experience—not as an afterthought, but as a core part of usability and clarity.
Key Responsibilities
UX Writing & Product Content
- Write and edit website content with a focus on clarity, usability, and navigation
- Develop copy for landing pages, program pages, and user-facing flows
- Ensure content supports user understanding and action
- Organize content to align with UX/UI design and user journeys
- Simplify complex information into clear, accessible language
- Ensure readability and logical flow across pages
- Work closely with UX/UI designers to align content with design systems
- Collaborate with developers to ensure content is implemented accurately
- Coordinate with PromiseVoice to maintain alignment with overall messaging
- Maintain consistency in tone, terminology, and structure across the site
- Support development of content standards and guidelines for product use
- Ensure content aligns with MAP’s mission and dignity-centered language
- Proofread and refine content before implementation
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and accessibility across all pages
- Support iterative improvements based on feedback
- Maintain timely, professional communication with cross-functional teams
- Collaborate using Google Workspace and product workflows
Required
- Strong writing, editing, and clarity-focused communication skills
- Ability to write for digital platforms and user interfaces
- Strong attention to detail and structure
- Ability to collaborate with designers and developers
- Alignment with MAP’s mission and dignity-centered values
- Experience in UX writing, product content, or website content development
- Basic understanding of UX/UI principles
- Familiarity with web structure and content hierarchy
- Experience working in cross-functional product teams
- Volunteer role
- Approximately 5–10 hours per week
- Minimum 6 month commitment preferred
- Fully remote
- Experience working within a product and technology team
- Hands-on experience in UX writing and product content
- Portfolio-ready work on a live platform
- Collaboration with designers, developers, and product leadership
- Professional references and letters of recommendation
