Through mentorship, academic enrichment, literacy development, creative expression, and housing initiatives, MAP creates safe, consistent, and empowering spaces where young people can thrive.
Our fashion and storytelling initiative, Thread & Promise, blends design, identity, and social impact. Every garment and creative project tells a story of resilience, artistry, and belonging. The Fashion & Media Division works in collaboration with MAP’s storytelling platforms — including Threads of Voices, The Bells I Hear, and MAP’s YouTube Channel — to bring our mission to life through visual expression, photography, and performance.
About The Role
We are seeking confident, expressive, and mission-driven Volunteer Models to represent Thread & Promise in photo shoots, fashion campaigns, short films, and creative media projects. As a model, you’ll help communicate MAP’s story through fashion, body language, and emotion — connecting style and storytelling in meaningful ways.
This is not just a modeling role — it’s an opportunity to embody purpose, creativity, and empowerment.

About The Role

As a model, you’ll help communicate MAP’s story through fashion, body language, and emotion — connecting style and storytelling in meaningful ways.
This is not just a modeling role — it’s an opportunity to embody purpose, creativity, and empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- Model for fashion photo shoots, video content, and digital campaigns under the Thread & Promise brand.
- Collaborate with designers, photographers, stylists, and creative directors on visual storytelling concepts.
- Represent the brand’s values of confidence, equity, sustainability, and community empowerment.
- Participate in promotional content for Threads of Voices, The Bells I Hear, and other MAP media projects.
- Support behind-the-scenes preparation, including fittings, styling sessions, and rehearsals.
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and teamwork during shoots and creative sessions.
- Check and respond to emails daily, ensuring all responses are completed within 48 hours.
- Take responsibility for performance improvement by reviewing feedback and refining presentation and collaboration skills.
- Passion for modeling, self-expression, and creative storytelling.
- Comfortable in front of the camera and able to take direction well.
- All ages, backgrounds, body types, and gender identities are welcome — diversity and authenticity are central to Thread & Promise.
- Prior modeling, acting, or performance experience is helpful but not required.
- Strong communication, reliability, and professionalism.
- Interest in ethical fashion, social justice, or creative arts is a plus.
- Volunteer role, approximately 5–10 hours per week (flexible schedule).
- In-person participation required for NYC-based photo and video shoots.
- Minimum 6-month commitment preferred.
- Experience modeling for a mission-driven fashion and media initiative.
- Professional portfolio content (photos and video footage).
- Collaboration with photographers, designers, and filmmakers.
- Mentorship, references, and creative development opportunities.
- The fulfillment of using your image and artistry to tell stories of resilience, beauty, and promise.
