Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant

Role Overview: The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides direct rehabilitation care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in a skilled nursing environment. The position involves implementing treatment plans, documenting patient progress, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow and execute physical therapy treatment plans for patients.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress.
• Utilize therapy software effectively.
• Assist in patient care activities, including emergency procedures like evacuation.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, and team members.
• Adhere to safety, sanitation, and confidentiality standards.
• Participate in community health initiatives as appropriate.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
• Current licensure or registration in applicable state; maintain active license.
• Preferably one year of experience; new grads are encouraged to apply.
• CPR certification (obtained upon hire or during orientation).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and good judgment.
• Knowledge of post-acute care regulations and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, standing, and mobility.
