Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Project Engineer to provide engineering and consulting services across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role involves managing field investigations, performing engineering analyses, preparing reports, and supporting design and construction efforts.
The ideal candidate is a licensed professional with strong technical expertise, project management experience, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Project Execution
- Perform and/or lead geotechnical field investigations and engineering analyses
- Develop calculations, recommendations, and design solutions
- Prepare plans, specifications, and detailed engineering reports
- Review construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications
- Research and resolve engineering and construction-related challenges
Project Management
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate project phases
- Track project progress, budgets, and performance metrics
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates for projects of varying complexity
- Recommend adjustments to improve efficiency, cost, or timelines
Quality & Safety
- Follow and enforce safety policies and procedures
- Participate in pre-task planning and report safety concerns
- Maintain and promote high-quality standards across all deliverables
- Conduct quality control reviews of reports and proposals
Technical Leadership
- Evaluate laboratory and field data for reporting and analysis
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff
- Supervise field engineers, graduate engineers, and technicians
- Serve as a technical resource for project teams
Client & Business Development
- Communicate directly with clients regarding project scope, progress, and findings
- Participate in business development, marketing, and client relationship efforts
- Support proposal development and client presentations
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil or Geotechnical preferred)
- 5–8 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
