Electrical Apprentice (3rd Year) – Commercial/Residential Construction

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice to join our commercial electrical team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of commercial electrical experience and be capable of working with limited supervision while supporting journeymen and foremen on new construction, tenant finish-out, remodel, and service projects.
This position is ideal for an apprentice looking to continue developing their skills while gaining experience on a variety of commercial electrical projects, including offices, medical facilities, retail spaces, industrial facilities, and other commercial buildings. The company specializes in new commercial construction, electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, generators, transformers, and electrical upgrades.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of commercial electrical systems according to NEC requirements.
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits and assist with diagnosing electrical issues.
- Install EMT, PVC, and rigid conduit using proper bending techniques.
- Install lighting fixtures, switches, receptacles, disconnects, and other electrical devices.
- Pull, label, and terminate branch circuit wiring and feeders.
- Assist with panel installation, device terminations, and electrical equipment setup.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and one-line diagrams.
- Use electrical testing equipment, including multimeters and voltage testers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following OSHA and company safety standards.
- Work closely with journeymen and foremen to complete projects safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of commercial electrical experience.
- Active Texas Electrical Apprentice License.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting electrical circuits.
- Experience installing conduit, lighting, and electrical devices.
- Familiarity with commercial electrical construction practices and installation methods.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Knowledge of electrical trade tools and standard installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, conduit benders, and electrical testing equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work from lifts when required.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Experience working in commercial new construction and tenant improvement projects.
- Experience installing panels, transformers, generators, and commercial electrical equipment is a plus.
