Mei Mei is a farm-focused, women-owned dumpling company in Boston. We make award-winning dumplings using responsibly sourced ingredients and are looking for team members who want to grow with us long-term.
Role Overview
Production Team Members are the heart of our dumpling factory. You’ll work on all aspects of food production, from mixing fillings and dough to folding and packing dumplings. This role is ideal for detail-oriented people who take pride in producing high-quality food at speed.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare fillings, dough, and bulk food items with consistency and accuracy
- Fold dumplings and assist with machine production
- Pack and label dumplings for retail and wholesale orders
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and organization standards
- Assist with online orders and occasional customer/vendor interactions
About You
- Strong food prep skills, ideally with experience in large-batch or bulk production
- Speed and accuracy under time pressure
- Prior dumpling folding and/or food manufacturing experience preferred
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to stay and grow with our team
- Able to adapt to changing priorities and production schedules
- Love to cook, excited to share in rotating family meal responsibilities
Requirements
- 1 year of food experience, preferably in large scale kitchen operations
- Able to lift 40 lbs and stand for 8 hours
- Knowledge of food safety (ServSafe preferred)
- COVID-19 vaccination required per company policy
Compensation & Schedule
- $17–$24/hour
- Monday-Friday day time hours between 7am-5pm
- Full time >30 hrs/week 4-5 shifts
- Part time <30 hrs/week, 2-4 shifts
Paid Time Off:
- PTO: Accrues to 21 days / 168 hours per year (based on 40 hrs/week)
- Sick Time: Accrues up to 5 days / 40 hours per calendar year
