Duties
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Support sales efforts by engaging with customers, providing gardening advice, and promoting seasonal products
- Oversee stock levels, merchandising displays, and inventory management to ensure an attractive shopping environment
- Handle customer inquiries with enthusiasm, offering expert advice on lawn care, landscape maintenance, floral design, and horticulture products
- Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions and cash handling with accuracy
- Coordinate with team members to ensure proper stocking, signage, and cleanliness throughout the store
- Support e-commerce initiatives by assisting with online order fulfillment and product descriptions
- Train and motivate staff to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain high retail standards
Experience
- Proven experience in retail sales or customer service within a garden center or similar environment
- Knowledge of gardening, horticulture, lawn care, landscape maintenance, and floral design preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, retail math, and merchandising techniques
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Organizational skills to manage stock levels, inventory records, and store presentation effectively
- Experience with cashiering duties and retail operations is highly desirable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and excellent service standards
